On November 24, 2015, video was released showing the October 2014 shooting of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald. The footage of McDonald being shot 16 times in 13 seconds by Chicago Police Officer Jason Van Dyke resulted in several days of protests in the city. Van Dyke was charged with first-degree murder shortly after the video's release.
